Is the paid version that much better than the free one, No or is this how Le Chat Vibe just generally is? Exactly. In general Mistral is super lagging behind competition

Unless they changed it, you get access to the thinking effort, instead of just “fast”. It makes a huge difference. I don’t know if you have access to work mode on free, but it also helps with this kind of task. Remember, mistral is basically optimized to take more thinking steps instead of having knowledge built in. It’s fast mode is basically useless.

Why is Mistral not mentioned. Is there any reason? I have the impression that they are often ignored by media, bloggers, devs when it comes to comparing or showcasing LLM thingies. Comes with free tier and quality is quite good. (But I am not an AI power user) https://chat.mistral.ai/chat

I hadn’t even bothered investigating Le Chat’s other modes - I only use the classic Chat mode. Also, I agree 100% with your comments about confidence in Mistral given their recent awful renaming decision 🤮
